Quooker, known for its innovative boiling water taps, faced significant logistical challenges. Their load carrier management, specifically for crates, was inefficient. Chronic shortages extended delivery times as suppliers frequently reused their crates, leading to higher costs and reliance on alternatives like cardboard boxes. Tracking crate flows was also a persistent issue, leaving Quooker without clear oversight.
Quooker opted for the RTI Blockchain solution to streamline their load carrier management. The decision was driven by its user-friendly design and ability to digitize crate management, which was previously done manually on CMR forms.
Implementation was smooth, with one small hurdle: staff initially struggled with inputting crate dimensions as the crates were unlabeled. With support from consultants Sven and Yves, barcodes were added to simplify the process and improve operational flow.
While Quooker is gradually adding more suppliers to the RTI system, the benefits are already evident. They now have better visibility into minimum and maximum stock levels at external locations and can monitor the average number of crates per shipment with greater accuracy.
A major advantage is the proactive functionality for suppliers. Previously, suppliers had to email requests for crates after the fact. Now, they can view real-time availability and request additional crates through the platform.
Quooker is already seeing substantial improvements but aims to take it further. Their goal is to integrate RTI with their ERP and WMS systems by February 2026. This will enhance the automation of their load carrier management and help achieve their long-term goals.
The RTI Blockchain solution has enabled Quooker to streamline crate management, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Despite ongoing developments, the user-friendly interface and exceptional RTI team support have made a significant difference in their supply chain.
